Race Regulations
General Information
1. This event is being organized by the Agones Sfc, under the auspices of the Malta Cycling Federation and shall be held in accordance with the Rules & Regulations of the Malta Cycling Federation.
2. This event is open to all cyclists registered and licensed with the Malta Cycling Federation as well as registered students of the cycling clubs
3. Cyclists are to use race numbers as assigned to them by the Malta Cycling Federation and are required to use 2 back numbers and one clearly visible bike frame number. Riders of various categories may also be asked to wear a hand band with distinctive colours to help the organisers.
4. All riders are to have their timing chip set on their bikes as instructed by the MCF. DUE TO THE TIMING SYSTEM SET UP NO PARTICIPANTS CAN BE ON THE RACE ROUTE OR CLOSE TO THE START AND FINISHING LINE UNLESS THEY ARE RACING. Riders that cross the line while they are not racing or warm up on the racecourse before their race will automatically be detected by the system and marked as NON STARTER.
5. Conventional ‘CE’ Approved helmets are to be worn during warm-up and throughout the event.
6. Cyclists who have finished competing in the race should refrain from cycling on the race circuit.
7. Cyclist are NOT ALLOWED to warm up or cycle on the circuit unless they are competing.
8. Lapped cyclists have to retire from the race and must do so immediately on being advised. Reframing from retiring may cause the race director to suspend the whole cycling team.
9. Team vehicles shall not be allowed on the circuit although a nominated event safety car/motorcycle may be allowed on the circuit.
10. Cyclists are not to approach the Timekeepers table for results. Each club should designate a club delegate to help on the finish line if need be.
11. If a cyclist has a grievance or complaint, the cyclist should advise his/her Club Delegate who should forward the grievance/complaint to the organizers through the proper channels.
12. Cyclists must obey all instructions given by race officials or marshals and failure to obey such instructions and these regulations may result in disqualification. The RACE DIRECTOR has the final say.
15. The Organizers shall announce provisional results on the day and presentation will be held as soon as the race of each category is over. Cyclists who fail to be present for the presentation may lose the right to receive the trophy. Official results will be posted on the agones sfc website.
As of this year we will also be including a 10km time trial event for those not registered with sport Malta and have cycling insurance as well as a fun obstacle course for u10 athletes.
16. A small memento shall be presented to all U’12s
Criterium Format
• The Race fee is follows
5 euro – Fun obstacle course u10
10 euro – Under 12
15 Euro – Under 14
20 euro – Rest of categories
• This event shall be held on Saturday 5th February at 12.30 pm at Hal Far Race Track. Cyclists in different categories have the following laps and time to complete the race as detailed hereunder:
Cyclists under 12 – 2 + 1 lap
Cyclist under 14 – 3 + 1 lap
Ladies, Master 40 +, Under 16, Master 50 +, masters 60 + – 30 minutes + 3laps
Juniors, Elite Cyclists – 35 mins + 3 laps
Sport Category – 10km Time Trial (Time Trial Bikes Allowed)
• The route is a loop of 2km.
• Race route shall be closed for vehicular traffic accept for emergency services

Below please find the time for the various predicted starting times for the various categories. Please make sure you are at the starting line at least 30 minutes before your designated start. Starting times are just an approximation.
• Sport Category Time Trial – 12.00
• Under 12 – 13.00pm
• Under 14- 13.30pm
• Under 16, Ladies, Masters 40+, juniors, Masters 50+, Masters 60+ – 14.00pm
• Juniors, Elite -15.00pm.
In the eventuality of bad weather, the Race director will decide if the race will be cancelled 15 minutes prior to the start of each category. The race will then be moved to another day.
Note from ARRTS Timing System – All cyclists need to have their transponder checked. Cyclists need to be at the Start/Finish Area at least 1 hour before. If Timing chip marks below 2.3v needs changing.
