DESCRIPTION:Zurrieq 10K & Half Marathon Race & Route\nThe 2025 Express Trailers Zurrieq Half Marathon and 10k – Sunday 16th November\nOrganiser of the event\nMalta Marathon \nOwner of the event\nZurrieq Wolves Athletic Club \nApplications open\n1st July 2025 \nOfficial application closing date\n20th October 2025 including receipt of the application fee or earlier if no more applications can be accepted. Applications are only guaranteed and confirmed upon receipt of the application fee which will be on a first come first served basis. The Organiser reserves the right to change the Official closing date at any time without prior notice. To Apply\, go to the Application Forms page\, late applications may not be accepted. \nRegistration \nParticipants must register and collect their race number\, timing chips and pins from Eurosport B’Kara\, on Saturday 15th November from 1100 to 1530. \nRace numbers can only be collected by giving the registration official the applicant’s ID number or Passport Number\, whichever was used to apply for the 2025 Express Trailers Zurrieq Half Marathon & 10K. \nRace numbers can be collected on behalf of an applicant by another person\, however the ID number or Passport Number\, whichever was used to apply for the 2025 Express Trailers Zurrieq Half Marathon & 10K must be given to the registration official. \nThere will be no need to have the ID or passport in hand\, the number will be enough. \nEligibility \nHalf Marathon: The first 300 males and females who apply and pay the application fee and who are at least 17 years old on the day of the race. \n10k including Walk: The first 600 males and females who apply and pay the application fee and who are at least 15 years old on the day of the race. \nHalf Marathon and 10k Application Fees:\n€25.00 for applications and fees received by the 27th October 2025.\n€30.00 for applications and fees received and accepted after the 27th October 2025. \nKids Race (5 to 15) Application Fees \n€8.00 for applications and fees received by the 27th October 2024.\n€10.00 for applications and fees received and accepted after the 27th October 2025. \nAges 15\, may apply either for the 10K or for the Kids Race. \nApplication fees for participants registering on-line may be paid either by credit card or by bank transfer. \nWhen paying the application fee by bank transfer\, the Application Code must be included in the transaction details of the bank transfer. \nFees are applicable at the time of payment and not at the time of application. \nApplication status\nApplicants applying on-line will automatically receive an email with the participant details as submitted\, the application status at this stage would be Processed Not Paid. \nApplicants paying on-line by credit card immediately after having applied on-line will automatically receive an email with the participant details as submitted\, the application status at this stage would be Confirmed. \nApplicants applying and paying the application fee by bank transfer will receive an email with the participant details as submitted or with any adjustments requested by the applicant. Do not give your race number to anyone else\, this could lead to your disqualification from future organised races. \nStart time\nThe Express Trailers Zurrieq Half Marathon will start at 0700 Hrs and has a 3 hour time limit. \nThe Express Trailers Zurrieq 10k and Walk will start at 0745 Hrs and have a 1.5 hour and 2 hour time limit respectively. \nThe Express Trailers Zurrieq Kids Race will start at 0945 Hrs. \nFinish line\nThe finish line for the Half Marathon and 10K will close at 1000\, San Michel and Powerade will be provided at the finish. \nHalf Marathon and 10K Routes\nDownload Zurrieq Half Marathon\, 10K & Kids Map\nThe topographical features and the bad state of a number of roads surrounding Zurrieq make finding an ideal route a difficult task. The Zurrieq Half Marathon was known for it’s tough course so the our prime task when asked to organise this event by the Zurrieq Wolves Athletic Club in 2013 was to change the route to one that was less strenuous and more attractive to prospective participants. Together with a new half marathon route we had to find a 10K route that was to be incorpoarted as a new event with the half marathon. \nWe believe that we have found 2 routes that will no longer make the Zurrieq event known for it’s tough route. \nBoth the half marathon and 10K pass by a number of surrounding villages. \nHalf Marathon\nThe Half Marathon starts right in front of the Zurrieq Parish Church. \nStart to 4km – Zurrieq to Qrendi \n4km to 5km – Qrendi to Mqabba \n5km to 7km – Mqabba to Kirkop \n7km to 12km – Kirkop to Hal-Far \n12km to 18km – Hal-Far t to Kirkop cemetry via tunnels & roundabout \n18km to 20km – Round Kirkop perimeter \n20km to 21km – Kirkop to Zurrieq & Finish \nThe finish is also opposite the Zurrieq Parish Church \n10K\nThe 10k starts right in front of the Zurrieq Parish Church. \nStart to 4km – Zurrieq to Qrendi \n4km to 5km – Qrendi to Mqabba \n5km to 7km – Mqabba to Kirkop cemetry via roundabout between Kirkop & tunnels \n7km to 9km – Round Kirkop perimeter \n9km to 10km – Kirkop to Zurrieq & Finish \nThe finish is also opposite the Zurrieq Parish Church \nCommemorative medal\nAll athletes finishing within their race time limit will be give a commemorative medal after they cross the finish line. \nAwards for both the Express Trailers Zurrieq Half Marathon and the Express Trailers Zurrieq 10k: \n1st 3 Males\, 1st 3 Females\, \n1st 3 Male Teams\, 1st 3 Female Teams \n1st Male U23\, 1st Female U23 \n1st & 2nd M/F over 40\, 1st & 2nd M/F over 45\, 1st & 2nd M/F over 50\, 1st & 2nd M/F over 55\, 1st & 2nd M/F over 60\, 1st & 2nd M/F over 65\, 1st & 2nd M/F over 70 \nNote: The age group category of each individual will be based on the age of the individual on the day of the race\, as allowed by the World Athletics Competition and Technical rules (See footnote of Rule 141). \nTeam competition\nA team may represent any club or group\, a team will consist of 3 runners. Every 3 same sex\, members of a club or group\, who finish the event will be classified as having participated in the team competition. Runners who do NOT name their team on their application form will NOT be classified as having participated in the team competition. Requests for team changes after an application form has been sent in\, may only be made by the participant himself or herself. Team names deemed offensive or otherwise may not be accepted by the organisers. Team awards will be based on the overall positions of the individual team members. If 2 or more teams finish on equal points the top places will be awarded to the first team/s whose last participant finishes before the other team’s last particpant. \nAward ceremony\nThe award ceremony will be held in the morning at the finish towards the end of the event. Hang around because you or a friend of yours may have won an award. The organiser is not responsible for awards not collected in person by the winners during the award giving ceremony. \nAwards for the Kids Race\nThere will be no awards after each Kids Race but each finisher will still receive a medal. \nThe Zurrieq Kids Race is part of the Kids Hall Of Fame. Each kid will receive a number of points dependant on his/her finishing position and the number of finishers in the race. These points will be added to any other points received in the other 4 Kids Races of the Kids Series. \nKids Hall Of Fame awards will be given at the end of the Kids Series to the 1st 3 M/F over 5\, 1st 3 M/F over 7\, 1st 3 M/F over 10 and 1st 3 M/F over 13 who obtain the most points at the end of the series. \nThe following kids races form part of the Kids HOF Series: Attard (September)\, LRC (October)\, Zurrieq (November)\, Attard (January) and Malta Marathon (February). \nResults\nResults will be available from the Malta Marathon website once they have been made official\, participants who registered on-line or by post and who have given a valid and clear email address will be advised by email when the results are available. \nOther race information\nThe following are some important race details. \nToilet facilities are available close to the start and finish.\nAthletes who in any way deface or fold their race number are liable to disqualification; numbers are to be worn on the front and are to be clearly visible.\nAthletes who are not clearly behind the start line at the start of their race are also liable to disqualification.\nFaster athletes should be given preference to stay at the front of the starting line\, please do not hinder faster runners.\nThere will be 3 water stations at approximately the 5th\, 10th and 16th km for the Zurrieq Half Marathon. There will be 1 water station at approximately the 5th km for the 10k and Walk.\nKilometres will be marked along the route. KMs are not necessarily precise but may only be indicative.\nThere will be LESA officers to control traffic in various parts of the route but remember the route is not traffic free\, so we urge you to be cautious and where possible run on the pavements. Better to be safe than a couple of seconds faster.

SUMMARY:Road Running League 2025/2026 - Race 1
DESCRIPTION:The Athletics Malta 2025/2026 Road Running League will be contested on 6 road races (three 5K and three 10K).\nTo be eligible for the final classification\, an athlete must complete any two 10K and any two 5K races. The classification will be compiled at the end of the series using a scoring system for those who take part in at least 4 series races as aforementioned.\n\nThe 2025/2026 Road Running League race schedule is as follows:\nRace 1 – 26 October 2025\, Pembroke Athleta Run For Mental Health\, @Marsascala 10Km\, applications open:https://www.pembrokeathleta.com/…/eurosport-run-for…\nRace 2 – 9 November 2025\, La Salle AC @Zabbar 5Km\, applications open: (https://lasalleathletics.com/…/road-race-9th-november…/)\nRace 3 – 18 January 2026\, AM National Championship @ta’ Qali 10Km\nRace 4 – 8 March 2026\, Corsa Beat Your PB @ta’ Xbiex\, 10 Km\nRace 5 – 19 April 2026\, AM National Championship @ta’ Qali\, 5Km\nRace 6 – 3 May 2026\, Mellieha AC S2P 5Km\n\nTo participate in the Road Running League athletes need to:1. Pay the Athletics Malta annual licence fee of €20#2. Pay the AM Registration fee of €30 (which includes the participation fee of the 10K and 5K National Championship road races)#3. Register for the other four (4) road races by applying directly with the respective race organizers.\n#The Athletics Malta annual licence and the Road Running League Registration fee to be paid through the respective clubs.\nAthletes in the Masters Category (i.e. over 35 years of age)\, should apply directly with Athletics Malta by completing the following form https://form.jotform.com/222902430649353
